I provide flexible and reliable care for children from infancy through school age.
I aim to provide a positive and safe environment for all children, and promote development through activities that encourage fine and gross motor development, respect for others and our environment, self-esteem and creativity.
We use our daily routine as a framework for discovery by exploring themes based on the children's interests and talents. I use the blog to follow our journey through journaling and photo documentation whenever possible.
Activities range from literacy, sensory and creative arts to science, cooking and occasionally a special trip. As well, we participate in community events and different playgroups to establish social participation and awareness.
We play outdoors every day to encourage gross motor development and foster a healthy lifestyle.
I have run a home daycare since the spring of 2009 and have worked in childcare since 2001 as a school-age program supervisor. I volunteer with the Block Parent Program of London; I have also been involved in running our church nursery, and volunteering with Big Sisters of London.
I have my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in Visual Arts, with a focus in Child Development. I also have my Diploma in Art Therapy, again focusing in Child Development.
